How to Buy Bitcoin: A Complete Beginner's Guide to Depositing TWD
Most overseas exchanges can't take TWD directly. The most common route: buy USDT (a digital coin pegged 1:1 to the US dollar) with TWD on MAX in Taiwan, then send the USDT over. The whole process takes about 1–3 days, mostly spent on identity verification.

Checklist
MAX sign-up and deposit
- Open the MAX sign-up page with the invite link and enter your email and password.
- After sign-up, the app walks you through identity verification and linking a bank account. Once done, your level rises to Lv2, which unlocks TWD deposits and withdrawals.
- Go to “Wallet” › TWD › “Deposit”; you'll get a dedicated deposit account number. Transfer from the bank account you linked.
Buy USDT on MAX
- Once the money arrives, open the USDT/TWD trading page.
- “Market” is fastest: you buy at the current price right away. “Limit” lets you set your own price, but you have to wait for someone willing to sell to you.

Choosing a network: cheap, and it must match
The same USDT can travel on different “networks” (like different couriers), and fees vary a lot. The most important rule: sender and receiver must use the same network; pick the wrong one and you may not get it back.

FAQ
Q: How long does a USDT transfer take?
Most networks take a few minutes, plus time for the exchange to confirm. If it hasn't arrived after 1 hours, first check MAX's withdrawal history for a transaction ID.
Q: What if I picked the wrong network?
Contact the receiving exchange's support right away. Some can recover it for a fee and a long wait; some can't. So always double-check the network before sending.
Q: Why not just buy with TWD on an overseas exchange?
Most overseas exchanges don't accept TWD, or require a credit card or third-party payment, which usually costs more.
